Heather Onoh is a renewable energy enthusiast who has done a tremendous amount of work in a drive to increase access to sustainable energy for all. In the off-grid sector she has connected over 500,000 homes and businesses in a bid to bridge the gap on electricity for the populace whiles ameliorating the decline in the socio-economic development of African States starting from Nigeria.

Heather has worked and partnered with several governing bodies including but not limited to the United Nations, the world bank, rural electrification of Nigeria and GSMA (Global System for mobile communication association) to further drive the Nigerian economy through empowerment of MSMEs and SMEs elevating the marginalized populace-to economic foreground.

In the on-grid sector, Heather Onoh has partnered with the Transmission Company of Nigeria to develop and deploy distributed energy storage systems and other intelligent technologies that enable grid resilience, reliability and bi-directional power flow to create a sustainable power sector and transform Nigeria into an industrialized nation.

In her over 20 years’ experience in the Power sector prior to her delve into renewable energy; Heather had championed a lot of sustainable transactions in the energy sector notably the acquisition of the OML 42 in Dawes Island, Rivers State, the Thermal Power Plant of 1020MW Capacity located in Sapele, Delta State Nigeria-the 2nd largest Power plant in Nigeria amongst others. The Sapele facility is currently undergoing world-standard modernization, expansion and rehabilitation world-standard in collaboration with international partners and investors in a bid to meet the energy needs of Nigerians.

Heather Onoh is an alumnus of the Global Social Benefit Institute (GSBI) where she worked with a group of mentors to develop business models and strategies to meet the need of the economically marginalized populace of Nigeria.
